Over time, girls started to question the fairness of promoting these stereotypes. It also made them think how both husband and wife need to pull their weight together no matter what gender they belong to.

Looking back, many Baby Boomers remember how gender roles were very strict when it came to gifts. Girls would receive dolls, board games and play kitchens; boys would receive things like bikes, radios or watches.
